Basketball Game Preview: St. Marys Flying Dutch vs. Elk County Catholic Crusaders

St. Marys is 2-8 against Elk County Catholic since December of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The St. Marys Flying Dutch will venture away from home to face off against the Elk County Catholic Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. St. Marys will be strutting in after a win while Elk County Catholic will be coming in after a loss.

Last Monday, St. Marys narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Kane 45-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Flying Dutch.

Meanwhile, Elk County Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 36-28 to St. Marys.

St. Marys now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Elk County Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

St. Marys was able to grind out a solid win over Elk County Catholic in their previous meeting on Saturday, winning 36-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Marys since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
