Soccer Recap: El Dorado Takes a Loss

El Dorado was the 2-0 winner over Esperanza when they last played one another on January 2nd, but their luck changed this time around. The El Dorado Golden Hawks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Esperanza Aztecs on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Golden Hawks came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Aztecs are ranked 346th).

El Dorado's loss dropped their record down to 7-6-6. As for Esperanza, their win bumped their record up to 5-7-2.

El Dorado will head out on the road to face off against Troy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Troy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something El Dorado surely won't give up without a fight. As for Esperanza, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Pacifica at 5:30 p.m. Pacifica's last seven contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
