Soccer Recap: Johnson Takes a Loss

After flying high against Jefferson last Tuesday, Johnson came back down to earth. The Johnson Knights fell just short of the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Knights couldn't quite close it out.

Johnson's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Johnson will take on North Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson is facing North Hall at the right time seeing as North Hall is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they will face off against Providence Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greater Atlanta Christian is on a three-game streak of home wins, Providence Christian Academy a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch.
