Football Recap: Cedar Ridge Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Cedar Ridge extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They took a blow against the Northwest Halifax Vikings, falling 62-19. The Fighting Red Wolves were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Cedar Ridge's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Matthew Asay, who threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes, and Mason Hughes, who picked up 107 receiving yards.

As for Northwest Halifax, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Northwest Halifax's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marsay Edwards, who rushed for 150 yards and one score on only 14 carries, and also caught one TD. Edwards' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 108 rushing yards. Julius Rook got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Ridge will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Granville at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Fighting Red Wolves' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Northwest Halifax, they are taking a road trip to face off against J.F. Webb at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,082 yards in their previous games.
