            West Valley's game  two weeks ago was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Thursday. They took their  matchup  with ease, bagging  a  62-26 win over the Mt. Shasta Bears. Given the Eagles' advantage  in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings  (they are ranked 410th, while the Bears are ranked 970th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Valley was led to victory by  Rainessa Matthews and  Allie Enyart.  Matthews  dropped  a double-double on 12 points and 11  rebounds, while  Enyart  went 5 of 9  on her way to 15 points. What's more,  Matthews also racked up two  blocks, the most she's  had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Emily Huddleston, who  posted ten points.

 West Valley  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 18  offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive boards in 46 consecutive  games  dating back to last season.
 Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Emily Pigoni, who  had seven  points and three  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jenna Lee, who  put up 11 points.
West Valley pushed their record up to 7-7 with the  victory, which was their 11th straight  at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.3 points. As for Mt. Shasta,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-9.
 West Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  71-38  win against Lassen on the 3rd. As for Mt. Shasta, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  match,  a  60-12  defeat against Shasta on the 2nd.
