Soccer Game Preview: Belmont vs. Roybal

The Belmont Sentinels will head out on the road to challenge the Roybal Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Belmont has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Roybal will arrive with five straight wins.

Belmont lost 6-1 to Robert F. Kennedy Community on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Sentinels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Bobcats are ranked 79th).

Meanwhile, Roybal kept a clean sheet against Bernstein on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Dragons as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by three goals or more this season.

They hit Bernstein with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Aileen Estrada, Viviana Mendoza, and Rubi Martinez.

Roybal pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Belmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Belmont suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Roybal when the teams last played back in January. Can Belmont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
