Basketball Game Preview: Chester Clippers vs. Upper Moreland Bears

The Chester Clippers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Upper Moreland Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chester will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Chester strolled past Renaissance Academy with points to spare, taking the game 46-29. Given the Clippers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Knights are ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chester got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Imani Dorsey out in front who went 7 of 14 en route to 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Dorsey's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Ja?Mya Muhammad was another key player, going 5 for 12 on her way to 12 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Chester smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Upper Moreland came up short against Lower Moreland on Tuesday and fell 61-54. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Upper Moreland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Chester, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Chester didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Upper Moreland in their previous matchup back in December of 2016, but they still walked away with a 41-35 victory. Will Chester repeat their success, or does Upper Moreland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
