Recap: Desert Edge Scorpions vs. Canyon View Jaguars

The Desert Edge Scorpions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 76-22 loss at the hands of Canyon View. Desert Edge has not had much luck with Canyon View recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Desert Edge got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Destinee Beasley and Monica Orozco , who each put up six points. Orozco also led the team in rebounds with six. Talyn Miller took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Desert Edge's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Canyon View, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Desert Edge will be home for the holidays to greet Agua Fria at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Agua Fria is ranked 109th, while Desert Edge is ranked 119th). As for Canyon View, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Havasu at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lake Havasu comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
