Erwin scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Asheville Cougars. The Warriors have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Erwin had strong showings from Jah'Baree Tolbert, who rushed for 112 yards and three scores, and Caden Ingle, who threw for 222 yards and one touchdown.

Tay Williams was nothing short of spectacular for Asheville: he threw for 313 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in three rushing scores. Those 313 passing yards gave Williams a new career-high.

Erwin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Asheville, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Erwin will welcome T.C. Roberson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Asheville, they will host North Buncombe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Black Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.88 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
