Soccer Game Preview: Coffee vs. Atkinson County

The Coffee Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Atkinson County Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Coffee is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Houston County on Thursday. They lost 6-1 to the Bears. The loss continues a trend for Coffee in their meetings with Houston County: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Atkinson County entered their tilt with Echols County on Friday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 3-0 shutout. Considering Atkinson County have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Atkinson County pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for Coffee, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
