Baseball Game Preview: Ridgeview Ravens vs. Bend Lava Bears

The Ridgeview Ravens will venture away from home to face off against the Bend Lava Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgeview is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Ridgeview gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Crook County.

Finn Chambers made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryden Nakamura, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Aiden Scott, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Ridgeview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Bend got the win against Summit last Friday by a conclusive 15-2. Considering the Lava Bears have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ridgeview's record is now 15-8-1. As for Bend, their record now sits at 18-6.

Ridgeview got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Bend by a conclusive 8-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ravens since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
