Baseball Game Preview: Camden County Wildcats vs. Lowndes Vikings

Camden County is 2-8 against Lowndes since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Camden County Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Lowndes Vikings at 6:00 p.m.

Camden County is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Valdosta. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Camden County has suffered against Valdosta since March 24, 2023.

Will Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Colby Benge also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Lowndes and Colquitt County, and Lowndes kept the tradition alive. Lowndes skirted past Colquitt County 2-1.

Lowndes' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Camden County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
