Following 14-13 win over previous No. 13 Pinson Valley, Rams leap 19 spots to No. 8.

While Thompson (Alabaster) firmly held its ground at No. 1, Ramsay (Birmingham) made the biggest leap in this week's Alabama Top 25 high school football rankings. Following a 14-13 win over previous No. 13 Pinson Valley (Pinson), the Rams went from No. 27 to No. 8.

Quarterback Kamren Ivory threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns, one each to Alonzo Johnson and the other to Kameron Thomas.

A 9-yard touchdown pass from Zach Pyron to Jaquel Fells Jr. closed Ramsay's lead to 14-13 with under a minute to play. But the PAT failed and the Rams (5-0) emerged victorious, earning a spot into the Top 25. Pinson Valley dropped to No. 19.

Ramsay's defense has allowed 20 points all season.

Thompson's defense is pretty good also as it proved in a 31-0 win over Mountain Brook. It was the first shutout of the season for the Warriors (5-0), who gave up single touchdowns in two previous games.

The other team to make a big leap, vaulting them into the Top 25 were the Patriots of Pike Road following a 55-0 win over Tallassee. The Pats (6-0) jumped 11 spots to No. 24.
