Soccer Recap: Wheeling Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Wheeling took on Conant on Saturday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Cougars. While losing is never fun, Wheeling can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 308th, while Conant are ranked 148th).

Wheeling's goal came courtesy of Iggy Jaworski, who's now up to two this season.

Wheeling dropped their record down to 1-3-2 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Conant, they now have a winning record of 3-2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheeling will take on Hoffman Estates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Conant, they will challenge Fremd at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fremd's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
