Softball Recap: St. Edmond Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Algona typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday St. Edmond proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Bulldogs 9-2. The Gaels haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

St. Edmond's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-10. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Algona, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5.

Looking ahead, St. Edmond will challenge Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something St. Edmond will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Algona, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-2 win against Estherville Lincoln Central on the 1st.
