With a playoff win on the line, Lambert rose to the challenge on Monday. They never let the Carrollton Trojans get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Longhorns sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

The result came thanks to Faith Doolen's shutout, as she gave up just five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lambert's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Paige Wentworth, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Lambert's victory bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Carrollton, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-5.

Lambert will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair will be back at it again later today.
