Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Horizon

Horizon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They never let the Silver Creek Raptors get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 two weeks ago.

Kaiya Barela was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Larrissa Arvizo was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tessa Munsch, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Horizon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silver Creek only posted an OBP of .100.

Horizon's record is now 16-6. As for Silver Creek, they dropped their record down to 11-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Horizon has already played their next game, a 14-2 loss against Broomfield on the 9th. As for Silver Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-5 victory against Monarch on the 11th.
