Soccer Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

If Marshall was riding high fresh off their 7-2 takedown of The Academy - San Francisco two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Phoenix lost 4-1 to the Galileo Lions on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Marshall of the 4-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Galileo, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Marshall is set to challenge their familiar foe Burton at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Galileo will take on rival O'Connell at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
