Softball Recap: University Beats Lamar for Their Fourth Straight Win

University strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Lamar Thunder. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 4-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kenzie Wyatt was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024. Natalie Galindo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: University lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive matchups.

University's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Lamar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

University wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-3 win against Rocky Ford on the 23rd. As for Lamar, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-10 defeat against Strasburg on the 23rd.
