Softball Recap: University's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

University put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Lamar Thunder by a score of 5-1. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 win the Thunder walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Kenzie Wyatt, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Natalie Galindo, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: University lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive contests.

University's record now sits at 4-0. As for Lamar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

University wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-3 victory against Rocky Ford on the 23rd. As for Lamar, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-10 defeat against Strasburg on the 23rd.
