Preview: Harbor Pirates vs. El Primero Lobos

The Harbor Pirates will be playing at home against the El Primero Lobos at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Harbor will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.

Last Tuesday, Harbor didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Yerba Buena, but they still walked away with a 34-28 win. The win was just what Harbor needed coming off of a 45-15 defeat in their prior matchup.

Harbor's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julianne Sanguinetti, who scored 11 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Sanguinetti has scored at least 25% of Harbor's points. Gillian Hull was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.

Meanwhile, El Primero is still winless after their contest against San Jose on Tuesday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. El Primero fell just short of San Jose by a score of 36-33.

El Primero's defeat came about despite a quality game from Yesenia Villanueva, who scored 13 points. Villanueva continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Paola Gallegos, who scored 10 points.

The losses dropped Harbor to 3-1 and Yerba Buena to 0-3.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Harbor haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 0 turnovers per game. However, it's not like El Primero struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 0 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
