            Softball Recap: Centennial Broncos vs. Blue River        
        
		
        
        
            Centennial had lost three straight at home, but  on Thursday they dropped down to 7-8 to make it four. They lost  11-1 to Blue River. The Broncos were not able to make up for their  defeat to Blue River from their previous meeting  back in September of 2024.
  Paityn Scheele made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and  went 1-for-2 with one  home run.
As for Blue River, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-5. Considering they have won six games by more than seven  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
On Blue River's side,  Abby Lindsley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Lindsley has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run.
 In other batting news,  Danica Watts was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high.  Ashlyn Long was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will welcome Polk County  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Slammers have averaged an impressive 7.2  runs per game this season. As for Blue River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tournament Opponent  at 9:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
