Cranford was handed a seven-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders 7-5. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Patrick Berry looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
