Volleyball Recap: Newman Grove/St. Edward Victorious

The Newman Grove/St. Edward Panthers beat the Nebraska Lutheran Knights 3-1 on Thursday.

The victory didn't come easy: Nebraska Lutheran scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 20-25, 25-21, 26-24.

Serenity Strong went supernova, getting 16 digs and six aces. Those 16 digs gave her a new career-high. Narali Irineo also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Newman Grove/St. Edward was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They are a perfect 3-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Despite the loss, Nebraska Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Taelyn Williamson had 15 digs. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for Williamson.

Newman Grove/St. Edward's record is now 5-3. As for Nebraska Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Newman Grove/St. Edward has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Harvard on the 13th. As for Nebraska Lutheran, they will welcome Dorchester at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
