Basketball Recap: Burton Comes Up Short

Burton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 57-1 loss at the hands of the WISH Academy Owls. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1366th, while the Owls are ranked 532nd).

Kourtney Woodruff continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for WISH Academy, putting up 16 points. Another player making a difference was Kailey Leon, who posted ten points.

Burton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for WISH Academy, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

As of now, neither Burton nor WISH Academy have any future games scheduled.
