Soccer Game Preview: Schaumburg vs. Conant

The Schaumburg Saxons will venture away from home to challenge the Conant Cougars at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Schaumburg is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Schaumburg had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Buffalo Grove on Tuesday. The Saxons put the hurt on the Bison with a sharp 3-0 win. Given Schaumburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Buffalo Grove are ranked 294th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Conant entered their match against Fremd on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Vikings. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Conant struggled afterwards.

Conant's loss dropped their record down to 7-5-4. As for Schaumburg, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4-2.
