Baseball Recap: Molalla Extends Winning Streak to Five

Molalla came tearing into Monday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Madras White Buffalos with a sharp 13-5 victory. Considering the Indians have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Zeke Kappas tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Molalla got a massive performance out of Garrett Brusseau, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits Brusseau has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Brusseau, who went 1-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Molalla was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madras only posted a batting average of .083.

Molalla's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Madras, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 17 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Molalla is set to face off against their familiar foe Gladstone at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Madras will take on rival Estacada at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
