Baseball Recap: Monroe Takes a Loss

Monroe fell victim to Cairo and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Syrupmakers, falling 16-0. The Golden Tornadoes haven't had much luck with the Syrupmakers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Cairo, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-6.

Coming up, Monroe will welcome Macon County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monroe is facing Macon County at the right time seeing as Macon County is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Cairo, they will head out to take on Peach County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
