While Evans's victory against Screven County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Gamecocks 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since August 21, 2024.

Braedyn Quarles was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brittney Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Evans has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs this season. As for Screven County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evans will take on Burke County at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Screven County, they will face off against Jenkins County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
