Soccer Game Preview: McLane vs. Minarets

The McLane Highlanders and the Minarets Mustangs will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McLane is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.6 goals per game this season.

McLane's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Orosi with a sharp 4-0 victory. The Highlanders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by three goals or more this season.

Ashlee Salinas and Celeste Thahane scored all four of McLane's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Minarets was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Morro Bay could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Minarets' draw gives them a new season record of 5-1-1. As for McLane, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

McLane beat Minarets 2-0 when the teams last played back in December of 2016. Will McLane repeat their success, or does Minarets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
