Soccer Game Preview: Liberty Ranch vs. Argonaut

The Liberty Ranch Hawks will take on the Argonaut Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Liberty Ranch comes in on six and Argonaut on four.

Liberty Ranch's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Amador 9-0. The result was nothing new for Liberty Ranch, who have now won ten matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Argonaut hadn't beaten Union Mine on the road since December 2, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Diamondbacks 2-1. Given Argonaut's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 387th, while Union Mine are ranked 866th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amy Hauser and Josie Gilliam scored both of Argonaut's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Liberty Ranch's win bumped their record up to 16-2-1. As for Argonaut, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.

Liberty Ranch got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in December of 2025 against Argonaut by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
