Recap: Center Cougars vs. Bear River Bruins
It was a good run, but the Center Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 58-40 to Bear River. Center has not had much luck with Bear River recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Center's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miessah Sagun, who scored 13 points. The contest was Sagun's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laylarae Blake, who scored six points.
Center's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Bear River, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Center won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. Lincoln will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Bear River will take on Twelve Bridges at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Twelve Bridges will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 771st, while Bear River is ranked 320th).
