Basketball Recap: WISH Academy's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to 12

WISH Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 59-50 win over the Animo Watts Warriors on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Owls sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.

Kourtney Woodruff continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 36 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Kailey Leon was another key player, posting seven points.

Animo Watts lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Caitlin Rosales, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 20 boards. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trisha Hernandez, who posted 16 points along with four steals and three blocks.

WISH Academy pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.7 points. As for Animo Watts, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4.

Coming up, WISH Academy will face off against Sotomayor at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. WISH Academy's defense has only allowed 26 points per game this season, so Sotomayor's offense will have their work cut out for them. Animo Watts does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
