Football Recap: Aquinas Institute Takes a Loss

After flying high against Varsity Opponent last Saturday, Aquinas Institute came back down to earth. The Little Irish came up short against the Fairport Red Raiders on Friday, falling 28-7. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Little Irish came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 137th).

Aquinas Institute's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fairport, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Aquinas Institute will face off against rival Rush-Henrietta at 7:07 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fairport is set to take on their familiar foe University Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
