Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of MADISON BURL and TARA RILEY Lead Rio Hondo Prep to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Anaheim, Rio Hondo Prep was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 47-31 victory over the Rosemead Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Kares also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Leading Rio Hondo Prep to victory were TARA RILEY and MADISON BURL. RILEY went 7 for 13 on her way to 15 points and eight rebounds, while BURL almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. RILEY's morning made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. EVONNY ORTEGA was another key player, putting up six points.

Rio Hondo Prep's record is now 7-4. As for Rosemead, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Rio Hondo Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Mayfield at 4:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Rosemead, they will venture away from home to challenge Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Rosemead is facing Marshall at the right time seeing as Marshall is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
