Recap: Coudersport Falcons vs. Otto-Eldred Terrors
The Coudersport Falcons waltzed into their match Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They secured a 48-43 W over Otto-Eldred. This was payback for Coudersport, who suffered a 45-34 loss the last time these two teams met.
Otto-Eldred's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kate Rhinehart, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ayla Van Scoter, who scored 13 points.
Coudersport's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Otto-Eldred, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Coudersport will head out on the road to face off against Smethport at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Smethport will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 645th, while Coudersport is ranked 267th). As for Otto-Eldred, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Port Allegany at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Port Allegany focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Wednesday.
