Baseball Recap: Coosa Comes Up Short

Coosa was the 13-3 winner over Fannin County when they last played one another back in April of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Coosa Eagles came up short against the Fannin County Rebels on Tuesday, falling 8-1.

Coosa saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Reece, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Reece's first of the season.

Coosa has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. The victory was the third in a row for Fannin County, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

While Coosa had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
