Basketball Recap: Lafayette Takes a Loss

Lafayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Oxford Chargers 74-24. The game marked the Commodores' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Oxford, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Lafayette will head out to face off against Southaven at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Commodores' defense better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 58.2 points per game this season. As for Oxford, they will welcome Shannon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will be up against the Red Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
