Basketball Recap: Hoover Cardinals vs. Escondido Charter Tigers
Hoover and Escondido Charter squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Hoover had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Escondido Charter Tigers 65-36. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.
Leading Escondido Charter to victory were Azalea Vilaysing and Kami Gillis. Vilaysing went 9-for-20 on her way to 22 points and four steals, while Gillis almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Gillis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 14 games she's played. CC Goss was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.
