Softball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Greeley West's Winning Streak

Greeley West dropped down to 13-10 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 19-8 to the Fossil Ridge SaberCats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the SaberCats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-15 back in August.

Isabella Rubio was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Iyanna Martinez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs.

As for Fossil Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-14-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games.

On Fossil Ridge's side, Abby Mayfield was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Mayfield a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Briella Myers, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

As of now, neither Greeley West nor Fossil Ridge have any future games scheduled.
