Softball Recap: Jefferson Find Success

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Jefferson walked away with it. They came out on top against the Sioux City West Wolverines by a score of 11-7 on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Yellowjackets needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Carley Steinspring made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Teygan Rasmussen was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted over her last five matchups. Rylee Perrine was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Jefferson's record is now 11-30. As for Sioux City West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Jefferson has already played their next game, a 13-0 loss against Northwest on the 12th. Sioux City West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
