Basketball Recap: North Hollywood Takes a Loss

North Hollywood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Poly Parrots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Parrots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-51 two weeks ago.

Isabella Cruz had a dynamite game for Poly, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Cruz a new career-high in boards. Audrey Flores was another key player, going 6-for-14 to rack up 16 points.

North Hollywood's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Poly, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, North Hollywood and Poly will both be playing Monroe the next time they take the court. North Hollywood will head out to face Monroe at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, while Poly will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
