Basketball Recap: Philadelphia Academy Charter Takes a Loss

Philadelphia Academy Charter played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 45-9 loss at the hands of the MAST Community Charter Panthers. The Chargers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-3.

Gretchen Rodgers was Philadelphia Academy Charter's leading scorer, having posted four points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead MAST Community Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rylie Fitzsimmons, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards. Fitzsimmons has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Tierney Hamilton was another key player, going 7 for 14 en route to 15 points and five steals.

Philadelphia Academy Charter's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for MAST Community Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Philadelphia Academy Charter has already played their next contest (against Sankofa Freedom Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. MAST Community Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-30 victory against String Theory on the 28th.
