Volleyball Recap: Refugio Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Refugio, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the George West Longhorns on Tuesday. The Bobcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Longhorns, too.

Refugio was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 21-25, 25-23, 25-16.

Aiyanna Brown went supernova, getting 17 digs, seven kills, five aces, and one block. Those seven kills gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Zae-Lynne Lewis, who had 16 digs, ten kills, and three blocks.

Refugio's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for George West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-10.

Coming up, Refugio will be playing in front of their home fans against Banquete at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for George West, they will head out on the road to square off against Mathis at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
