Soccer Game Preview: Milpitas vs. MacDonald

The Milpitas Trojans will challenge the MacDonald Condor at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Milpitas has three straight victories, MacDonald has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

If MacDonald heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Milpitas took over last week. Milpitas beat Lynbrook by a goal, winning 3-2. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, MacDonald's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost 5-0 to Fremont. While losing is never fun, the Condor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1035th, while the Firebirds are ranked 319th).

Milpitas' win bumped their record up to 10-7-1. As for MacDonald, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13-3.
