It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Lucerne Valley Mustangs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They secured a 35-30 W over Mesa Grande Academy. The win was nothing new for Lucerne Valley as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lucerne Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jasmine Pepper, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chloe Evans, who scored eight points along with 11 steals and eight rebounds.
Lucerne Valley's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Mesa Grande Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Grand Terrace the next time they take the court. Lucerne Valley will head out to face Grand Terrace at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, while Mesa Grande Academy will head out to face them at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
