Softball Recap: Marian Victorious

Marian's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the North Platte Bulldogs. That's more bragging rights for the Crusaders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Aubrey Mueting made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Sadie Klinetobe was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Kincaid, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Marian's record is now 12-16. As for North Platte, they moved to 18-13 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Marian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-2 loss against Millard North on the 8th. North Platte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
