Mundy's Mill hasn't had much luck against Jonesboro recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers will square off against the Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. Mundy's Mill will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Mundy's Mill came out on top against Mt. Zion on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive 19-run first inning. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 19-8 victory.

Mundy's Mill got a massive performance out of Shamiyah Jackson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daijah Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Mundy's Mill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .852. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Jonesboro came out on top against Mt. Zion on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 16-run second inning. The Cardinals blew past the Bulldogs 21-6. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Zorah Jenkins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs but no hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last five contests. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Makayla Lamar was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brianna Mason, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Jonesboro's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Mundy's Mill, their record is now 7-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mundy's Mill has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 10.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jonesboro struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mundy's Mill might still be hurting after the 22-3 loss they got from Jonesboro in their previous matchup back in August. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
