Softball Recap: Parkway Central's Winning Streak Snapped at Eight Games

After a string of eight wins, Parkway Central's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They came up short against the Webster Groves Statesmen, falling 12-2. The Colts were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the five games prior), but the Statesmen's pitchers proved too tough.

Parkway Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Lewis, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Lewis has hit this season. Lauren Franey was another, going 1-for-2 with one triple.

Parkway Central's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Webster Groves, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Parkway Central will welcome Lafayette at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Webster Groves, they will venture away from home to square off against Lindbergh at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
