Basketball Recap: Sayre Takes a Loss

Sayre was the 45-20 winner over KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sayre Sabres were outmatched by KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy and fell 57-7.

KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy found their leader in sophomore Aasiyah Moore, who posted 20 points and seven steals. Moore has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Surah Hoye, who put up eight points in addition to nine rebounds and five steals.

Sayre's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Sayre will host Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Swenson Arts & Tech at 3:15 p.m. on January 27th.
